Why is it that fish live 100 times longer than their expected life expectancy at my house?? Why can't they just die after a month like normal fish? We didn't even name this gold fish because we didn't think that it would be with us for very long. It is a very forgiving fish though. It lived in squalor for a while in Katie Jane's bedroom. Both outside AND inside it's bowl.

Bleck...that "fish-tank" smell.

Katie Jane has discovered my camera now. She took this picture of her fish. Named...fish.

Of course this is after she cleaned the bowl...using my kitchen ladle and bowls...thank heavens for bleach.

And Emma - my only child who gets to see her art without going through a box - has shown me what she is going to look like at the age of 100. Of course this was to celebrate the 100th day of school.

I love the sun - but true to form of being her mother's daughter, she added a black cloud...can't always be too optimistic. And the fact that she drew herself using a cane and walking a dog makes me smile. And if anyone makes it to 100 years old, then they have every right to wear a crown with a big "100" on it!!

Purple must be an old person color.

And the moon...at it's biggest stage.

I just thought it was cool. And every step closer to Spring deserves a little attention!
