Strong Cousin Christmas Party!

Bring on the sugar buzz!

We decided to have a cousin party ~ sans Luke :( , instead of drawing names for gifts. Kristy and my mom put so much work into it. My mom made REAL gingerbread houses for all the grandkids...20 to be infact...and blistered her fingers doing it.

Just looking at these pictures brings anxiety to my brain! 19 kids...sorry Ashley, I included you in that number...and copious amounts of candy, with Willie running around doing tricks as fast as he could to be rewarded with poisonous chocolate chunks and sticky gum drops and the noise level being near illegal in some towns. It was a go-see-Christmas-lights-decorate-gingerbread-houses-watch Shrek the Halls-sleep-over celebration! Blankets. PJ's. Sleeping bags. Pillows. Shoes. Clothes. Noise. Teasing. Some tears.

But most important...FUN!

So here are the kids decorating their blister-inflicting gingerbread houses! It's always fun to see where their imagination will take them.

Emma...demanding a picture of her with her house.

Each of the kids had their own baggie of meringue frosting...specially made by grandma, of course...and I'd say maybe half of it ended up on the houses, the other half ended up in the mouths of the kids between layering it on their houses. Has anyone ever eaten meringue frosting? It's not that good! Really!

the big kids table...Katie Jane and Allie

Jay doing the macho boy thing...so delicately I might add!

Aspen and Lauren

And Steven...
adding a touch of "gourmet" to grilled-cheese sammies!
